For our course intercultural communications under the supervision of  professor Ameli ,recently we developed a research and used intergroup contact theory. Intergroup contact theory maintains that a major means of reducing intergroup prejudice is through contact between the groups under optimal conditions.  Expanding on the ideas of Williams (1947), Gordon Allport (1954) formalized the theory, stating that intergroup contact would lead to reduced intergroup prejudice if the contact situation embodies four conditions: 1) equal status between the groups in the situation; 2) common goals; 3) no competition between the groups; and 4) authority sanction for the contact. My colligues in this research were Jafar Mohammadi, Hossein Hassani , Mohammad Hossein Zadeh , Maryam Nouraei Nejad , Zohreh Faghani , Tahereh kheirkhah and Yalda Erfani Far. I proposed the others to study intercultural sensitivity between Lors and Qashqaeies in khoomazar region in Nourabad Mamasani. For one year I was a student in guidance school in khoomazar so this place was familiar for me.

Nourabad Mamasani is located in south west part of Iran and 1000 kilometers far from Tehran. The area is mountainous with spread planes that make this region suitable for farming. The population of this region is over 200000 that about 100000 live in Nourabad and the others live in rural regions. About 85% of population are Lors and qashqaeies consist 12% of the whole hord.we designed our research on a two step method.in quantitative phase we provided participants with a questionnaire contained five questions in form of Bogardus scale.for more information about this scaleClick here .in qualitative phase we interviewed participants with open questions and asked them to describe their reasons for answering the choices of the questionnaire .the results showed that surprisingly there is a high rate of coexistence between Lors and Qashqaeies.we concluded that some social factors such as marriage, similarity in religious beliefs and equal status are the main agents in this outcome.
