Last year I wrote an article and said that Iranian TV has particular orientations. In that article, taking the notion of “Public Sphere” of Jürgen Habermas, I explored public sphere, its deficiencies and advancements in one of the most popular talk shows of the Iranian TV. The method of that investigation was composed of a quantitative analysis of the programs and qualitative interviews with producers of the program. The results however showed that this program and Iranian TV in general, reflect different attitudes towards issues but when the Iranian TV encounters a redline, only represent particular opinions. I think these days the Iranian TV is trying to support this proposition! I saw shopkeepers complaining for inconveniences to work. They ask the government to suppress the riots and help them sell their goods! That's the way Iranian TV represent the challenge our today's society.
